Experiment description
This experiment demonstrates how copper sulphate crystals are formed from a saturated solution. Copper sulphate is dissolved in hot water (with a few drops of dilute sulphuric acid) until no more can dissolve. The solution is filtered and left to cool undisturbed. After some time, blue crystals of copper sulphate separate out from the solution.
