Experiment description
In this experiment, we are going to perform the thermal decomposition of calcium carbonate. By strongly heating the solid white powder, it will break down into solid calcium oxide and release carbon dioxide gas. To confirm the chemical reaction, we will attach a balloon to the test tube to see if the released CO2 gas inflates it.
