Sulphur Colloid Preparation and Comparison

Sulphur Colloid Preparation and Comparison

Experiment description

This experiment demonstrates the preparation of a colloid, true solution, and suspension. Colloidal sulphur is prepared by passing H₂S gas through water and adding nitric acid. A true solution is prepared by dissolving sodium chloride in water. A suspension is prepared by mixing powdered chalk with water. The three mixtures are observed and compared based on their appearance.
