Experiment description
This experiment demonstrates that air contains oxygen which supports burning. Two candles are covered with jars of different sizes. The candle under the smaller jar goes out faster because it has less oxygen, while the candle under the larger jar burns longer. This shows that oxygen is required for combustion and is limited inside a closed container.
