Mendel's Law of Independent Assortment

Mendel's Law of Independent Assortment

Experiment description

In this experiment, we will verify Mendel's Law of Independent Assortment using two pairs of contrasting seed characters: seed shape and seed colour. Round seed shape is represented by R and wrinkled seed shape by r, while yellow seed colour is represented by Y and green seed colour by y. By studying the F1 and F2 generations of a dihybrid cross, we observe how alleles of different characters assort independently during gamete formation. The expected F2 generation shows a phenotypic ratio of 9:3:3:1, proving Mendel's Law of Independent Assortment.
