Experiment description
This experiment demonstrates transcription in a eukaryotic cell, beginning with the location of DNA inside the nucleus and progressing to a specific gene. Learners explore the transcription unit, including the promoter, structural gene, and terminator, and observe how RNA polymerase II uses the DNA template strand to form a complementary RNA transcript. The experiment then shows how the primary transcript is processed through capping, splicing, and poly-A tailing to form mature mRNA, which is finally exported from the nucleus for translation.
