Experiment description
This experiment demonstrates the reaction of lime water with carbon dioxide. Two test tubes containing lime water are taken, and exhaled air is passed through one while normal air is passed through the other. The lime water exposed to exhaled air turns milky faster, showing that exhaled air contains more carbon dioxide. The milkiness is caused by the formation of calcium carbonate.
