Experiment description
This experiment demonstrates beta decay, in which an unstable nucleus becomes more stable by emitting a beta particle. During this process, a neutron is converted into a proton with the emission of an electron in beta minus decay, or a proton is converted into a neutron with the emission of a positron in beta plus decay.
