Experiment description
In this experiment, we are going to separate different plant pigments present in spinach leaves using paper chromatography. The leaf extract is placed on chromatography paper, and the solvent moves upward through the paper. As the solvent rises, it carries the pigments with it and separates them into different coloured bands such as chlorophyll b, chlorophyll a, xanthophyll, and carotene.
