Cutting an ovary (a) longitudinal cut and (b) transverse cut

Cutting an ovary (a) longitudinal cut and (b) transverse cut

Experiment description

This experiment shows the internal structure of a flower's ovary using two cuts. In a longitudinal cut, the ovary is sliced lengthwise to clearly see the ovules arranged inside the chamber. In a transverse cut, the ovary is sliced across to view a circular section where the ovules appear arranged within the ovary.
