Experiment description
This experiment demonstrates that root tips are responsible for growth in plants. Two onion bulbs are placed on water to observe root growth. When the root tips of one onion are cut, its growth slows down or stops, while the other continues to grow. This shows that meristematic tissue at the root tip is essential for new cell formation and growth.
