Heat Change During Dissolution of Acid and Base in Water

Heat Change During Dissolution of Acid and Base in Water

Experiment description

In this experiment, we will observe the heat change that occurs when concentrated sulphuric acid or sodium hydroxide dissolves in water. First, water is taken in a beaker. Then, concentrated sulphuric acid or sodium hydroxide is added and mixed slowly. The temperature of the solution increases, showing that heat is released. Therefore, the process is exothermic.
