Experiment description
In this experiment, we will verify Mendel's Law of Segregation using yellow and green seed characters to represent dominant and recessive traits. Yellow seed colour is represented by (Y) and green seed colour by (y). By studying the (F_1) and (F_2) generations, we observe how alleles separate during gamete formation and reunite during fertilisation. The expected (F_2) result shows a genotypic ratio of (1:2:1) and a phenotypic ratio of (3:1), proving Mendel's Law of Segregation.
