Experiment description
This experiment demonstrates how carbon dioxide (CO<sub>2</sub>) helps to put out fire. When CO<sub>2</sub> is released near burning wood, the flame reduces and goes out because CO<sub>2</sub> does not support burning and cuts off the oxygen supply.
